Origin: Cameroon
This carved Nyatti buffalo mask has a stylized, elongated face and is beautifully decorated with polychrome, geometric motifs. These masks are made by the Douala people who live along the Wouri River in Cameroon. Douala masks were used traditionally to honour ancestors during rituals and ceremonies.
